Stephen Quijano's Vlog #1

Stephen Quijano's Vlog #1 Reflection:       Digital for beginners, like me, is difficult. All I know about digital arts are basics of digital coloring, usage of lines and shape, basic human figures and whatnot. However, being able to do such thing is a great experience of mine. It really taught me how to become more patient, for digital painting will really take time and of course improve my character. Yes, I may have started doing digital arts only acquiring basic knowledge, however, I do believe that practice makes perfect. Practicing will make my skills better not only in digital art work but it will also give me a solid base to in any other form of art. And I really do hope in this very in-depth experience that starting from a novice or hobbyist I will end up with the mentality and skills of a professional.

Glenysse Maligro's Vlog #1

Glenysse Maligro's Vlog #1      I think Pop Art is a very popular art movement, hence the name “pop”. If you ask me, I had really fun in editing this. Growing up, I loved to read comics since just plainly reading bored me. I think this is one of the reasons as to why I picked Lichtenstein style.  I don’t exactly know how to paint so this is actually why I edited instead. I do not think of this as a disadvantage or that I am in anyway “art”-icapped since art will always be art. May it be non-digital or digital. The differences are actually really slim. In digital art, we still deal will the same art concepts and elements like balance, hues, harmony, contrasting and blending. This is a message very close from my heart since this very art experience has prompted me to ponder the weighing scale of digital and traditional art.

Charisse Longos' Vlog #1

Charisse Longos' Vlog #1 Reflection:       I grew up to be someone who has no talent in arts however, I have no problem doing this activity. Our self-portrait can be made digitally and I think this gave me an edge. Making a vlog is also a first and considering I don't have to show my face for it, I don't need to be shy. Though there were no problems in editing a photo of myself, I troubled over how I was supposed to do my vlog. It took me hours before I realized I just have to video the process of me editing it. Writing this now, I realized I have many areas I need to improve on. Next time, I will try to have the courage to show my face and polish the things that needs to be polished.

Kisha Vilvestre's Vlog #1

Kisha Vilvestre's Vlog #1 Reflection:       Even though I don't know how to draw or even sketch my self, I can still show my creative side, and that is to make my own version and style of creating or editing my photo. It is a lot easier than making a real one, still effort is needed. You need to find a filter or design that suits your preference. Though it is not that hard and exhausting, still, it is enjoyable and fun finding what effects is applicable and suitable for your photo.

Rhianne Veloso's Vlog #1

Rhianne Veloso's Vlog #1 Reflection:      This actvity is really unsual for me because I am not a fan of taking selfies or videos. Nevertheless I had so much fun in filming especially explaining my self portrait. I honestly thought it was intresting to speak out how it means to me. Planning out this activity in my head, I was really challenged. Aside from not having any equipments with me, with the low quality video, I feel uncomfortable facing up to the camera. I just thought of it as having fun and went with the flow. I am also not an excellent speaker and it is something I try to improve everyday. During the film, I shot multiple times because it was so hard for me not to laugh at myself. I just choose to laugh about it rather than mourning how shameless I am. In addition, the challenge was more on the editing part. I realized how essential it is because I never really got interested in these digital stuff but I tried my best to do so al...

Eddy Ziga's Vlog #1

Eddy Ziga's Vlog #1 Reflection:    At first, I debated on how to do my self-portrait. I wanted to be possessed by an Art god and paint a meticulous masterpiece. But I never really had much luck with paint brushes and canvases; painting was still another skill I have not learned and harnessed. So, I decided to use a half-face selfie of mine which I took 5 months ago and edit it in Photoshop. I am not exactly a Photoshop guru nor am I an expert, I have recently just taught myself how to work around it just last summer where I started photo-editing and amateur graphic designing while solely relying on YouTube tutorials. My self-portrait was, probably unsurprisingly, actually inspired by a tutorial I saw on YouTube. I did a Stylish Pop Art Half-Face Portrait. Initially, before I decided to go digital, I was really intent on going Stylish since the pen outline effect appeals to me. I also wanted to go WPAP but my newbie skills won’t let me. That ...

Zedec Pacaldo's Vlog #1

Zedec Pacaldo's Vlog #1 Reflection:      I spent so much time, energy, and ideas doing this activity. At first, I thought of making it fully digital and printing it but I was pretty sure that the majority would print too since it is the easier way. All you have to do is to take a picture of yourself and apply filters. I find it too easy and comparisons within similar medium is expected because of how many of us are willing to do it digitally.      In my output, this is not the case. I decided to use mixed media. I started by taking an old photo of me back in grade 10. I removed the background and added a filter that "crystallizes" the photo. Then, I printed it and started painting with oil. After several hours of painting, it's finally done.     Since my painting was inspired by Spanish Contemporary Art, I wanted to add something personal. Something that represents my art and my creativity. Since I've been using a technique...
