Music Video: A Warrior is a Child by Gary Valenciano

A Warrior is a Child Reflection:       People have special love and attention with children. When they get tired and they become so busy with their daily engagements or when their world become so complicated, they talk to children. You know why? They are no fake. You ask them any question and you get their honest answer. You would even get honest answer that they don’t know the answer.      The song was sang by Gary Valenciano entitled The Warrior is a Child. It is about the out emotions as adults through the years with the masks we put on to give in to the world’s expectations of us suppressing the child’s spirit in us.      So as we see ourselves “winning battles left and right”… we feel success with a lot of things that we do. But we still feel emptiness at times. Something that we could not understand with success, leaving us to question its true nature. Success I guess without the feeling of fulfillment and meani...

GAMABA & National Artists Awardees

GAMABA & National Artists Awardees Reflection:      Collectively, as a group, each one of us look up in awe to these GAMABA and National Artists Awardees. As the current millennial kabataan, we realize that our preferences and tastes are easily influenced especially by Western culture (like the U.S.) and even by our neighboring countries like South Korea and Japan. As much as they influence our choices, they may also influence the way we speak, act, dress and even the way in which we produce Art. This is exactly why these recognized GAMABA and NAAs are incredible. As the pioneers of Philippine Art, they have maintained true to their Filipino roots and culture; their Art something to marvel and to be proud of. In a way, they have prompted us to actually stop and take a deep breath and ponder at our pagiging Pinoy. What makes a Filipino a Filipino? Unwavering faith, persistence, creativity and resourcefulness are among the many Pinoy distinguishable trait...

Installation Art: Documentation

Image
LANTAd: The Wicked and The Fool Installation Art about the Current Issues in the Philippines      This was a tough activity. It required everyone's cooperation and support. We even had a hard time in deciding the main focus of the art. Only few of us gave ideas. Thank God Sir Quilantang helped us in deciding the main focus and the foundation of our installation art. We used some resources that we had in our homes especially the microphones and the unusable Television of Jerel. In the first meeting of the construction of the Installation art, only few came in the morning. Most of them were even late. What's good is that our group were present and helped a lot.      Christia led the whole class while Glenysse helped her in leading she's also one of the people who brought the rotten vegetables to school. Eddy brought many materials like nails, and painted the microphone stands. Zedec made and constructed most of the microphone dresses and b...

Formation: Activity Documentation

Image
November 23, 2017 "Formation" by Beyonce      The song is all about black empowerment. It shows different issues and criticisms the black people are experiencing such as racism, unequal treatment and violence. We also noticed the symbolism of law enforcement agencies such as the police. They are linked to the wrong treatment of the blacks.      At first, we were not able to identify the message of the song but after several times the music video was repeated, we were able to identify the symbolisms and made connections. First thing we identified was the police car that Beyonce was on top of. We used visual identification because we can't hear the lyrics properly.
